Animated Singing in the Rain - Upstaged

Artistic Director of California Musical Theatre in Citrus Heights, California supports Prop 8

Thanks to fuzzface_63 for the link:

Never EVER cross a show queen

Apparently, one of the shows they are planning to do next year is "Avenue Q". I've already sent the following message to the show's producers via their website at Avenue Q Thoughts Form:

"PLEASE, I urge you to send a message to the bigots that supported Proposition 8 in California. The artistic director of the California Musical Theatre in Citrus Heights, California, a man named Scott Eckern gave $1,000 to Yes on Prop 8. I believe that this goes entirely against ANYONE working in musical theatre, especially one who will be presenting your show which includes the song "If You Were Gay (That Would Be Okay)". PLEASE demand the removal of this theatre's performance rights of your show. Thank you!"

Other shows planned for the upcoming season: Disney's the Lion King, Forever Plaid, Frost/Nixon, Stomp and The Color Purple (unfortunately, the last is already currently running)...the producers of each of these shows will soon be getting similar missives from me!

Spread the word! This musical theatre hates gays...dont' give them your business! Vote with your wallet!
