Visiting With My Sims - Erin Beaker

Here's the next installment to my neighborhood characters...

This is Erin. She's Loki's little sister. Loki we met here in this installment. Erin is not like her brother. She's nice. People in the neighborhood like her. She's got friends who care about her.

Erin has a great little house with an open balcony bedroom. It's not very big, but it's easy to play in this house, 'cause she doesn't have to walk far to get to anything (except for the fact that the sole bathroom is upstairs).

As you can see, it's a modern style house, perfect for a single gal! Speaking of "Single", that's how we first meet Erin. She and her gal pals lived together in a house known only as "the Singles". There was Erin, Kristen, Lola and Chloe. Now, only Chloe is still living with three gal pal roommates and the other girls are married. Erin is beginning to feel the bug and may be ready to settle down herself.

Erin used to have very long hair, but I thought she not only looked too much like Barbie, but also too much like another denizen of the neighborhood named Jenny Smith. Once I gave her the shorter hair and the emo glasses, I got the idea in my head that she's really an artist at heart (though her career in the game, like her best friend, Kristen, is athlete...I imagine her as a gymnast).

This is Lazlo Curious. He used to live with his brothers, Pascal and Vidcund. Once he moved out on his own, I gave him a makeover as well. He used to just wear a t-shirt and while he had long hair, it was kind of scraggly. He now has it pulled back in a long greying pony-tail. Putting on the suit, I imagine him as an aging hippy college professor. I recently, though, gave him one of the new custom careers I've downloaded...Lawyer (I imagine him as a bleeding heart liberal public defender...protecting the wrongly accused.).

They have been slowly carrying on a nice little courtship, going on a few dates, but mostly just meeting at each other's house for quiet nights together.

Here, after dinner, Erin entertains Lazlo with her musical prowess.

When she finished playing, she turned around and swept him up into her arms. After they kissed...

...I had Lazlo propose engagement (using the magic mirror to allow me to play with the visitor as a household member). I don't consider it cheating since she also had the same possibility in her socials when clicking on him, so I knew she'd be willing.

Erin was so happy, she invited her friend, Kristen over to show her the ring and have a midnight swim...

You can see here, she's beaming with happiness. Now, she and Kristen are going to have to go shopping downtown to find the perfect dress.

I'm not going to have the ceremony too soon though. 1). I like playing them both as singles, but I want to play the courtship a little more. 2). I want to find the perfect house for the two of them (probably one of the "Factory Living" sets from ModTheSims2 by nengi65, 3). I'd love to play out the engagement for a while...Bridal party, Bachelor party, shopping for the gown, the cake, etc.

Not to mention finding a nice church to hold the ceremony downtown!

I'm glad others are enjoying it. I just finally wanted to share more of my characters with everyone else...if you click on the "Sims 2" tag, you'll see a preview of the next two couples I'm going to post about...

1) Fernando and Kristen (I once posted their wedding photos)
2) Jaime and Lola (I once posted the progess on the house I built for them...the only such project in my game...I generally just download other people's houses, though I like to redecorate them).

After that, it'll be Lazlo's bachelor digs.
Basically, when I play, I usually do a full loop of the characters anyway (playing them all in alphabetical order so I know I don't miss anyone). Yes, I'm obsessed enough to keep a text file with a full list of all characters (especially now that they might live in one of four areas in the game: the main neighborhood of Strangetown, the University (in the dorms), the Downtown and the new shopping District (Bluewater Village)).

Strangetown is one of the pre-fab cities and the only one I play, 'cause I just really fell in love with the atmosphere immediately (it's basically Roswell, New Mexico, including aliens that had settled into the town). I've added a few characters including some from my old game (about six of the children from Sims 1 as grownups) and some new characters (I love to create more colorful aliens in the hopes of the eventual cross breeding of them all: blue, purple, yellow, chrome, grey, transparent and orange with bumps are the ones I've done so far!

Wow, I love how your Lazlo looks! That makes me want to makeover mine.

Do you ever post your Sim stories in the sim communities? I have fun doing that, it's neat to see what people have to say about them.
