Taco Chick and Salsa Girl - (Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival movie 9 1/2)

Before the final feature last night, there was a wonderful short shown. Taco Chick and Salsa Girl. This is a follow-up to Superfag (which won the award for best short film at the festival in 2002).

It was, for me, just as funny as the last one, if not funnier.

Superfag had introduced a whole slew of silly/gay heroes for Superfag's universe and amongst them are this pair, whose show is patterned after Krofft's Electro-Woman and Dyna-Girl (though they have "taco" flavored powers). The humor is very campy, but then again, it was in those old shows, too.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kurt Koehler after the show and he was very nice. I also got to hang out with "Kay Sedia", the actor who portrayed "Taco Chick" at the after-party and he was very nice and great sense of humor (and was extremely attractive out of his make-up!).

I can't wait for more of these shorts (and keep my fingers crossed for a full-length feature, whether or not it features these super-heroes). If the creators of LoGo! (the new-gay themed television channel) are smart, they'll commission a whole series of these shows from Kurt to program their Saturday mornings!

If there were separate ballots for the short features, I would have given it a "great/excellent"
