(I did delete ALL five Virginia cities that had come up on the list, since that is the only state I truly would not want to live in, due to their political climate these days...).

i took that and all my answers were either in arkansas, maryland 2 in connecticut and the very last was boston ma.

Yeah, the political climate here does suck. About the best you can say is that we usually avoid the truly horrific choices, like when Oliver North ran for the US Senate. But I'm a little offended that you think the state that elected Jesse Helms to five terms in the US Senate has a better political climate than Virginia.

well, I'd forgotten about Sen. Helms...

...however, even that state (North Carolina?) hasn't started legislation that would not only disallow gay marraige but ANY contract between a gay couple (of course, when I've mentioned what they want to do, I've scared quite a few of my straight friends away from Virginia, too, since they realize that they would not be able to name any of their same sex friends as having their medical power of attorney if they so desired, etc.).

5 of the places on my list were places that I have either already lived or spent a good chunk of time in. The #1 spot on the list is the town where I went to school, and where I have actually said I would like to end up!
