Academy Awards - 11pm to 12am

Naomi Watts - LOVE her hair (old style Hollywood Glamour!), not sure I like her dress (WAY too bright a shade of yellow!).
Robert Downey Jr - couldn't someone have combed his hair before they let him step out? LOVED his joke though!

I really want Pirates to win this one! I was riveted by watching the making of documentaries on the disc. I'm not surprised to see that Brandon Roush was CGd throughout the film Supermand Returns...he looked like fake.YAY! Pirates!!! Seriously, if you've not yet had the chance to see the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie, go get a copy of it. Someone near you owns it. Borrow it from them. You will want to own a copy for yourself. Be sure to watch all the stuff on the second disc. Absolutely riveting stuff (the amount of work that goes into these things).

another montage - foreign films ('cause this year was the most international of any year). I may have to save the awards on the Tivo for a couple of days so I have time to come back to this and add a bunch of these to Netflix...(except for "Life is Beautiful", all the ones I'm familiar with are wonderful).

Not Pan's Labyrinth? I'm surprised. See my comments about the montage above...I'll have to add these all to the Netflix queue as well! The "Lives of Others" from Germany does look interesting just from this clip.

George Clooney - always male Hollywood glamour (he's the Cary Grant of our generation in my opinion!).

Of COURSE I want Effie (Jennifer Hudson) to win. I DO really LOVE that dress on Abigail. She's adorable.YAY! YAY! YAY! I know it's weird to take something like this personally, but this is wonderful. I LOVED her in this movie. (not that Cate Blanchette was a slouch in "Notes on a Scandal"). Tonight, officially, a Star is Born. I'm thinking of Barbra Streisand winning for "Funny Girl" here...

wow...that looks SO sad. It's a shame these things really aren't available to the general public (except as $1.99 downloads on iTunes). I think an evening or two on Sundance Channel would work!

oooh...the look on Jada Pinkett-Smith's face as Jerry Seinfeld walked out...I wonder if she has him confused with Michael Richards?

Jerry Seinfeld obviously has absolutely NO idea how much money the theatre industry charges theatre owners for the "privilege" of showing them (since he doesn't know why the movie theatre refreshments are so over priced).

"Deliver Us From Evil" - whoa...just that clip alone is enough to take my breath away.
Inconvenient Truth. YAY! It was wonderful. Again, I hope that this helps propel Mr. Gore to the White House. Tammy Lynn Michaels looks great (they just showed her in the audience next to her partner, Melissa Etheridge)...[sidebar] I think that bringing her character, Lacey, back in some capacity, now long over Shane, would be a great twist on "The L Word"...hopefully someone will do that...!

Fast-forwarding through the Ennio Morricone tribute (including a Celine Dion song) gains me some ground...

Babel...none of them really moved me during the montage...no clear winner for me, so I fast forwarded to make even MORE ground

movie plug time...Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst presenting together...!
Little Miss Sunshine...ugh. It was certainly original...but not a favorite movie of mine. I'm with

JC Penney ad - "Today's the day you'll feel like a star..." LOVED it! Don't let it be said that people with TiVos don't watch commercials.
