I've been reading about this! There's a great article in the print version of Radar Magazine. It just started this week. It's all about these joke stealers and was printed before this newest with Rogan yet Rogan and Mencia are mentioned directly in the article too. Apparently, George Lopez has been known to go down to the club and catch Mencia stealing from him too. He got angry and slammed Mencia against a wall a few times and punched him a lot for it!!!!

They also said that Robin Williams is notorious for it too! Same with Denis Leary who stole a lot from the dead Bill Hicks.

It's fascinating how they get away with it. I don't even like Rogan but I find it so unfair to steal a joke like that!

Ya know, it may be a little shady int he comedy world. But there seems to be a couple of things these people are over looking.
#1: Limited Resources. Sure, everyone doing comedy has a "I hate Bush" rant. Most of them have a "Building a wall with Mexicans" joke. It honestly sounds to me like Rogan is just trying to start shit. Just because two comedians tell a blond joke, does not mean one stole it from the other. The Dane Cook clip in particular... How is that the same joke save for "stupid kid name"? I guess Rogan needs something to do since Fear Factor and UFC aren't doing it for him...

And #2: With Celebrity it's not about being original, it's about being in the public eye. So Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia steal jokes.. At least in BOTH cases the delivery is excellent and I have laughed my ass off at both. I have seen some of the second string comics claiming to be the jokes they ripped off, and quite frankly they sucked. Dolly Parton had moderate success with "I will Always Love You", but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who doesn't instantly think of Witney Houston's The Bodyguard soundtrack version of the same song. Same song, one done MUCH better than the other. Ok I know it's a little different when you Cover a song, but the point is still the same. Yeah, Unknown Comics Crying Over Theft, Sorry Dane and Carlos became famous for doing your material, but perhaps you should have worked on your stage presence as well....

P.s. That Scamboogh guy... He thinks Dave Attel is funny. That pretty much negates his understanding of Comedy from the get go... Dave Attel couldn't tell a decent joke on stage if his life depended on it. The man is a sad excuse for a comic...

Whoa...everything ELSE aside...

...are you really telling me you prefer Whitney's car alarm butchering of that song to Dolly's perfection?

No no, I wasn't talking MY opinion.. I was talking General Public, and considerign that Whitney's made the top of the charts for MONTHS and Dolly's never even got there.....

Personally, I think both of the are wretched. The song is a poorly written one to start with. But that's completely beside the point. =)

Carlos Mencia is a crappy comedian.
However, he is half-Mexican and half-Honduran, not German and Honduran.
Wikipedia to the rescue!

He is half Mexican, but was raised in East Los Angeles so he needs to stop acting like he just hopped the border.
It's ridiculous, a huge lie, and annoying as hell.
